Q: What are on-hold messages?
A: On-hold messages are professionally narrated commercials accompanied by licensed music that play when a caller is placed on hold. On-hold programs speak to your customer one-on-one, allowing your company to reinforce other advertising campaigns, reduce hang-ups, answer often asked questions, provide information, and announce seasonal events. At the same time it enhances your business image and has great potential to increase revenue.
Q: What are my package options? How much will it cost?
A: Our most popular package consists of 6 minutes of playtime with 8 customized messages. Also available is a 3 minute production with 4 customized messages. The packages vary according to the number of updates you will require. You have the option of changing your messages as often as 2, 4, 6, 12 or 24 times per year, or we can customize a package to suit your needs.
We also offer multiple location discounts and annual payment plans. Please contact us for a quote regarding your specific requirements.
Q: Does the messaging start at the beginning every time I place a caller on hold?
A: No. The messages play in a continuous loop, so there is no first or last message. This prevents callers from hearing the same message each time they call and allows them to hear the other messages.
Q: Will I lose the radio at my phone?
A: Yes you will, but alternative solutions can be found.
Q: Is my company too small for an on-hold system?
A: As long as you have the capability of putting a caller on hold (usually 2 or more incoming lines,) you will be able to use the Sold on Hold system.
Q: What type of equipment do I need?
A: We have found state-of-the-art Digital Chip Interalia machines allow us to provide the highest quality of sound reproduction. These units are small, about the size of a toaster, and are available in cassette or CD format, or we can download the messages through the phone. The machines are generally simple to install and your messages will be up and running before you know it.
Rental of the equipment is included in your package and in the rare instance of malfunction, we will replace the unit at no charge to you.
Q: Do I need a license to play on-hold messaging on my phones?
A: No. The music and messaging is licensed through Sold on Hold. We have a huge library of all types of music—from classical and easy listening to rock, country, jazz and more.
Q: How often should I change the messages?
A: How often clients call in, the amount of hold time you use, and the nature of your business will influence how often you want to change your messages. A Sold on Hold representative will be happy to help you determine how much hold time your business uses and recommend a suitable program for you.
Q: How much of my time is this going to take?
A: Not a lot. One of our writers will create the scripts using information you provide about your business. All you have to do is critique the script. We’ll fine-tune until it’s exactly as you want it. When we have your full approval, your messages will be voiced by professional talent in your choice of male, female or a combination of both, and blended with your choice of music style. Plus, we check with you from time to time to see if you require changes in your messages.
Q: Because my on-hold messages are customized, what if I don’t like something about them?
A: No problem. Whatever you don’t like, we’ll make right. All copy must have your full approval before it is sent to production. Customer satisfaction is what makes our business continue to grow. We want you to be completely satisfied with your Sold on Hold messages and recommend us to your business associates.
